On the Master’s degree in Entrepreneurship & Innovation Management, among other things, students are provided with knowledge in the areas of business and startup development as well as innovation management. Engineering Design combines the synergistic shaping forces of science, technology and art to solve complex future challenges. Design is the overarching function needed to develop sustainable, optimised products. This programme is aimed at designers with technical skills and technicians with design skills. It prepares you for work in technically oriented industrial design and/or the development of technical products involving design aspects. The master’s course in Civil Engineering is a practical course that offers two fields of specialism: constructive and civil engineering and transport construction. The focus of the concentration on constructive engineering lies in the design, construction and calculation of supporting structures in building construction and bridge construction. Gaining in-depth knowledge of civil engineering and transport construction prepares you for current and future demands in geotechnics, transportation and bridge engineering as well as in environmental geology. Ecological Engineering is the translation of ecological principles into societal and technical action: the adaptation of construction techniques, material flow cycles, material flow management and spatial symbioses of material and energy
users, so that they are benign to nature. The course equips you to develop, on a scientific foundation, concepts and techniques for the sustainable management of vital resources like water, soil and biomass and for the restoration and
reclamation of ecosystems and for decentralised supply and waste disposal. After graduating, you could work in, among other roles, research, public administration, private industry or banking and insurance.

The Master’s programme in Safety and Hazard Defence qualifies you for a variety of roles in the fields of safety and hazard prevention by imparting theoretical and technical knowledge and extending expertise in safety management and
risk avoidance. Specialisms in fire protection and industrial safety equip you for practical work and research. On successful completion of the course, you will be in a position to take on an executive or administrative role in the fire service, technical authorities (e.g. fire, disaster and environmental protection), in the manufacture of safety-related technologies or in safety management within companies.

This international programme is offered in conjunction with the University of A Coru a in Spain where the first or second semester is spent. The programme builds competences in the aspects of national and international water management planning processes, restoration ecology, river morphology and flow and process modelling. It prepares you for jobs in various areas of water management at an international level. Examples include roles with environment agencies and
ministries, in the private water industry or environmental protection companies, in engineering firms offering consulting and planning, and institutions, as well as in teaching and research.
