Studying for a Bachelor’s degree without a higher education entrance qualification
Requirements for studying at a German university
Higher Education Entrance Qualification– HEEQ
As a general rule, in order to be admitted to study for a Bachelor’s degree in Germany, you will need to hold a higher education entrance qualification. This means that your foreign high school certificate entitles you to study in Germany. If international applicants do not hold a higher education entrance qualification, then normally there are only two options:
- attending a preparatory college in Germany
- pursuing a 1 to 2-year study programme in their home country
To check if your high school certificate entitles you to study in Germany, you can use the admission database of the DAAD
